I am looking for seven-seater SUV. I like the Hyundai Santa Fe and Mazda CX-9. Could you please guide me which one should I buy?
I don't mind Hyundai but I am confused because, first, it is Korean and secondly, diesel. I have never used diesel and I wonder about the resale on Hyundai. Please advise.
Mazda CX-9 is still fairly new, so it’s quite in demand (discounting by significant amounts is still a few weeks off). It’s a good SUV, slightly bigger than Santa Fe. Less warranty, however (5yrs for Santa Fe, 3yrs for CX-9) and a shorter service interval (Hyundai 12mths/15,000km; Mazda 12mths/10,000km.) Bear in mind servicing is whatever occurs first - the time or the distance. The Mazda has a space-saver spare tyre (one of those skinny ones, limited to 80km/h). Hyundai has a full-sized alloy spare wheel and tyre (better option).
Resale on both will be about the same.
