Hi John, I purchased a used vehicle from a ford dealer last year and I don't like how the car handles. I would like to trade it and down size to a smaller car. I have been looking at a Hyundai i30 and I have taken one for a test drive. Before doing so I had watched your video on the 10 tricks a car dealer will try with you and you were spot on.
As I was ripped off on the finance when I purchased the car I still have a balance to pay and I would need to get from my trade either more or close to what is still owing and get into another car within a strict budget.
What do you think of the Hyundai i30 and do you have any other suggestions for a small to mid size car that is mainly used to drive kids to and from school and grocery shopping? I would consider a small SUV, something like the Mitsubishi ASX or similar.
I will also need to get finance. Can you help me with all three: trade, purchase and finance? After my recent experience with this car dealership I am very reluctant to even approach another as I feel they are just out to take people for a ride. Thanks, Leigh
The Hyundai i30 is a great car - I am sure you will like it. I've written extensively about the Hyundai i30 on the website. There's a list of 'Hyundai i30' reports below, which might assist with your research.

I would scratch the SUV idea completely if the budget is tight. Normally I would suggest you get yourself into a Toyota Corolla and a Mazda3 as well - at the same price-point. However, in this case I think the Hyundai i30 SE will offer more features for the price, and is also the car you will get at the lowest possible price in this segment.
I will have the team from the brokerage call you. These guys will be a fantastic asset for getting the right car at the right price, and they will make the process very easy. They can definitely assist with finance and also getting the most favourable price on the disposal of your used car (trade-in). Please let me know if I can assist with anything else.
