Best SUV for Towing 1400kg

I'm considering a Honda CR-V to tow my boat. Specific requirements are full-size spare (as some longer trips likely) and electric driver's seat with memory (it's a pain when we swap cars - other car is a Mazda CX-9 Luxury). The ability to tow a 1400kg boat would be a plus, but the CX-9 does that with ease.

Should I Buy the Toyota RAV4, Mazda CX-5 or Honda CR-V?

I have looked at the Mazda CX-5 petrol. Found it a bit sluggish and boot room seemed a bit too tight for 3 kids. Drove the Mazda6 wagon too - again boot room was a bit small. So decided to look at Toyota RAV 4 as wife is a big Toyota fan. Liked it drive-wise and boot space wise but in terms of internal layout etc was a bit boring. Apparently they also have a diesel which are easier to come by. Drove the Honda CR-V today and loved it to bits. Kids were happy with back seat and cargo space was good too. Wife still prefers the Toyota RAV4 and I prefer the Honda CRV (seems to be better built and drives better plus is cheaper!!). Any suggestions / recommendations?

Should I Buy the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4 or Hyundai Santa Fe?

Hi John,

I listen to you on Radio 2UE overnight. I have a 2004 Honda CRV sport with 172,000km- should I trade in or sell? I want another car like a CRV and Iam looking at the RAV 4 and Santa Fe. I have a family of 5 with 3 kids (6, 8, 11). Occasionally I tow a trailer with rubbish to the tip. Whenever we go out as a family we would go in this car. We don't go off road, but I like sitting higher than in a normal sedan. We would take this car on any holidays we went on. I drive this car to work (40km per day return trip). I do approx. 22,000km per year.

Thanks,

Richard
