Which Small Car Should You Buy in 2016?

If you’re in the market for a mainstream small car costing less than $40 grand - that basically means a Toyota Corolla-sized car - let’s eliminate the utter crap

Why does my Holden Cruze rev too high on the freeway?

The major annoyance with my Holden Cruze Equipe is the high gear ratio. Travelling at 110km/h and the 5th gear RPMs are sitting just over 3000, which makes the car sound like it's...screaming (is one way to put it). It's like it really needs a 6th gear. I have taken it to my dealer and they say that there is nothing they can do to lower the gear ratio. Is this true?

Should I Buy the Toyota Kluger, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Hyundai Santa Fe or Kia Sorento?

My wife and I are expecting a third child . We need an SUV this time. My wife is keen on a Toyota Kluger but I like the look of the Jeep Grand Cherokee. There are however mixed reports on the Jeep, and Toyota certainly seems to have reliability on its side. We will most likely keep whatever we buy for around 7-10 years. What would you recommend, and should we consider the Hyundai Santa Fe or Kia Sorento as a better option?

What 4WD Ute Should I Buy?

The 4WD ute segment is knee-deep in dogs. Once you flick the utes with fleas, the utes that are just under-done and the ones with expired use-by dates … there are just three 4WD utes you should consider buying. Let’s leave personal preference and marketing spin to one side and use the hi-tech miracle of objective criteria to process today’s dual-cab 4WD utes through the automotive abattoir. We’ll see which three manage to escape the knife.

How to Choose the Right Small Car

Just read about this brokerage service and it sounds great. Keen to avoid trooping around dealerships and playing their silly games and of course getting the best deal possible. Narrowed the small car selection down to:

  • Mazda 3 Neo
  • Toyota Corolla Ascent
  • Hyundai i30

What do you think? Thanks for your time and look forward to discussing my purchase and sales further with you soon.

Should I Buy the Toyota RAV4, Mazda CX-5 or Honda CR-V?

I have looked at the Mazda CX-5 petrol. Found it a bit sluggish and boot room seemed a bit too tight for 3 kids. Drove the Mazda6 wagon too - again boot room was a bit small. So decided to look at Toyota RAV 4 as wife is a big Toyota fan. Liked it drive-wise and boot space wise but in terms of internal layout etc was a bit boring. Apparently they also have a diesel which are easier to come by. Drove the Honda CR-V today and loved it to bits. Kids were happy with back seat and cargo space was good too. Wife still prefers the Toyota RAV4 and I prefer the Honda CRV (seems to be better built and drives better plus is cheaper!!). Any suggestions / recommendations?

Should I Buy a Holden Colorado?

Why do Toyotas, including the Toyota HiLux, have higher resale value in the second-market than Holden Colorado? Is that due to the quality of the cars? (I saw some reviews involved in quality problem of Colorado online.) You know I am not worrying about it too much as Holden provides 5 years warranty at this time, however I am worrying about taking time out of my job if the Colorado happens to broken. Can you give me some information about the quality of the cars?

Which Ute Should I Buy: Holden Colorado, Toyota HiLux or Mitsubishi Triton?

I am hunting a ute as a contractor for cabling. Normally, I drive everywhere mainly on flat streets for handiwork, but sometimes I drive in the country. I need a dual-cab 4X4 auto ute as I have kids to pick up. You know it is by the end of financial year. I'm trying to decide between the Holden Colorado LT 4X4 auto($38,000 + 5 year warranty + 3 years free serving), Toyota HiLux SR 4X4 auto ($43,000 + 3 years warranty) and Mitsubishi Triton GLX 4X4 auto ($32,000 + 5 years warranty). I have no experience with the ute yet. Which one should I buy?
