Choosing a Hyundai Tucson Elite
I am writing to thank you for your email and most of all the help and advice (via your website). You have helped me enormously deciding which car to buy.
At the start of the car buying process, I had no intention of going anywhere near a car dealership as I had recently lost my husband and didn’t want to go through the hassle of being conned by car sales people without him. I did a bit of research on the web and I liked the Nissan Qashqai but after reading more, moved towards the Honda HR-V, which I made my enquiry about with you.
When Lloyd called me, he advised I test drive a few cars before making the final decision and I thought this was a good idea for such a big investment. The more I read about the Hyundai Tucson, the more I liked it. I realised that what you said made sense re. warranty, servicing etc. I went and had a look and had a test drive.
In the end, the price was around the same as the dealer but I was told that it was a 3-4 month wait on the new 5-star safety-rated models. I went back to the salesman (the one I saw for the test drive) and it was only a two-week wait for the car I wanted. When I went in to pick it up on Monday there was a nice surprise as Hyundai had upgraded me to the Elite with leather seats and also better alloy wheels.
I really love the car and the whole buying experience was great, thanks to your help and advice. I also saw you on Sunrise the other day talking about e10 petrol. I have never used it as I thought it would damage my car. I haven’t read your story on it yet but will soon to see if I should make the switch.
Thanks again John for your wonderful advice! You take the hard work out of buying a car for people like me, who know nothing about cars and I am very grateful for your help.
